Sijing Ye and Ching Toa Aristo Sham were named winners of the 2008 Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation competitions.

For the first time, the Foundation held two competitions back-to-back, the Junior Competition for pianists ages 11-13 and the Young Artist Competition for ages 14-18. Both weeklong competitions took place in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ye, 16, of New York City, won first prize in the Young Artist competition. He received $8,000. The second prize of $6,000 went to Kenric Tam, 18, of Los Altos Hills, California. Jonathan Floril, 18, of Spain, won the third prize of $5,000.
