Despite Barack Obama's pledge for "change," his pick for vice-presidential running mate, Senator Joseph Biden (D-Del.), is the clearest signal yet that an Obama presidency would be little more than old wine in new bottles.
Like George W. Bush, Obama has been criticized for his lack of experience in national and international affairs. And like President Bush, Obama has tapped for veep a man with all the right establishment credentials and connections, a man Ron Fournier of the Associated Press called "the ultimate insider."
