About 40,000 Poles will be able to take advantage of the the social security agreement between Poland and Canada, which came into force on 25 September. It will enable them to combine the periods of work in Poland and Canada, and to transfer benefits to an authorised person living in the other country, as well as secure workers from losing their benefits gained under the other country's jurisdiction.

NIK's Report on Health Care
In its report, the Supreme Control Chamber (NIK) evaluated that the basic health care, despite eight years having passed from the last health care system reform still does not fulfil its primary function. NIK emphasises that the Polish health care is still aimed at treatment, not prevention, which contributes to a growth of costs and decrease in efficiency.
