Declarations made by Prime Minister Donald Tusk concerning Poland's admission to the eurozone by 2011 have been assessed as unrealistic by majority of experts. Some of them also claim that the change of currency will be unprofitable, especially for banks.

The opposition washighly critical about the idea of introducing euro in Poland in the year 2011, assessing it either as very risky and likely to lower the standard of living in Poland, or as unattainable due to the standard length of formal procedures involved in the introduction of new currency, which will not allow the process to be completed before 2012.
