NEW DELHI, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - Expressing concern at the dwindling market share of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) (BSE:BSNL), India's Communications and IT minister Mr A Raja, today asked the PSU to focus on cellular and broadband services and roll out 3G and WiMax services immediately.
BSNL, which has been consistently losing market position to its private sector rivals like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Essar, has 23.4 per cent market share with 38.48 million users.
At the Heads of Circles Conference of BSNL here, Raja called upon BSNL officials to workout a strategy to restore BSNL's market position, while expressed confidence that BSNL's contribution to meet the national target of 20 million broadband connections by 2010 would be over 50 per cent.
