The European Commission has stepped up its anti-trust investigation into mobile phone chipmaker Qualcomm. The US-based company is suspected of abusing its dominant position by offering unfair and discriminatory licensing terms for its WCDMA technology. The investigation follows complaints lodged with the commission by Ericsson, Nokia, Texas Instruments, Broadcom, NEC and Panasonic, among which some are already involved in legal disputes with Qualcomm over licensing.
