Tampa Bay Harbor Pilots want a raise.

The Tampa Bay Pilots Association has filed a request with the state Pilotage Rate Review Board for a staggered rate increase over the next three years.

If approved, the first increase would be 9 percent, followed by 8 percent the next year and 8 percent the following year.

The Pilotage Rate Review Board appointed an independent investigative committee to seek input from the local maritime community during a meeting in Tampa on Aug. 6.
