A new business is offering training on teaching and then certification to adjuncts to help them impress potential employers.

Rochelle Santopoalo, a former University of Phoenix administrator and adjunct, is president and founder of the Society of Certified Adjunct Faculty Educators. She sees a real value to the certification program that costs $395-Many adjuncts "don't know what they are doing" and are "going into it blindly" when they begin teaching, said Santopoalo.
