Surprised at the use of these symbols by the National Library at an exhibition some years ago, I wrote objections in the comments book, doubtless to no avail.
My surprise was because of a much earlier experience, in the 1950s, when the Pergamon Museum in the "German Democratic Republic" captioned its exhibits "vuZ" (before our era) and "uZ" (during our era).
