CHICAGO -- Differences in 14 of 96 genes associated with apoptosis were found in biopsy samples taken from keloid scars and adjacent normal skin, with a potentially important role implicated for the caspase 14 gene, Dr. Heather Woolery-Lloyd reported at an international symposium sponsored by the L'Oreal Institute for Ethnic Hair and Skin Research.
