It was rather amusing and, of course, the politically correct thing to do for Commissioner Bud Selig, former Cubs pitcher Rick Sutcliffe and others to come to the rescue of Steve Bartman, the fan at Wrigley Field who single-handedly jinxed the 2003 Cubs.
These noble supporters, however, must not have actually watched Game 6 of the National League Championship Series (in which the Marlins beat Mark Prior and the Cubs, 8-3).
