Benelux operator Versatel reported second-quarter revenues of EUR 182 million, up 75 percent from a year earlier on the back of its merger with Tele2's Dutch and Belgian operations. On an organic basis, Versatel's sales were up 11.3 percent. EBITDA improved to EUR 19.5 million from EUR 6.6 million a year earlier, while the net loss narrowed to EUR 23.2 million from a loss of EUR 34.8 million. Revenues in the Netherlands increased 87 percent to EUR 148.2 million, and EBITDA there grew to EUR 20.7 million from EUR 8.1 million a year ago.
