The Dutch consumers union has called for the government to intervene over the high prices for mobile internet use. The union has received numerous complaints from consumers about unexpected bills of hundreds of euros for using mobile data services abroad. In April, the union asked operators to warn users about the costs when they use mobile internet abroad, via a free SMS alert.
