Organic and biodynamic wines are the biggest growth area for independent wine retailers, according to exclusive research carried out by OLN.
Twenty-four per cent of stores now describe the category as one of their specialities, a 20 per cent increase on the figure for 2007. Thirty-one per cent of the 200 respondents in this year's audit of the independent wine merchants sector say sales of organic and biodynamic wines are growing. Forty-seven per cent describe sales as stable.
