Supermarkets are slashing prices on a range of Champagnes and sparkling wines ahead of Valentine's Day.
Waitrose leads the annual fizz war with a number of price cuts on major sparkling brands, including Piper Heidsieck RosA Sauvage, down AGBP5 to AGBP22.99, Alexandre Bonnet Brut RosA, down AGBP4 to AGBP14.99 and 25 per cent off Taittinger Brut RAserve, down to AGBP21.74 from AGBP28.99. Tesco has a promotion running until March 2 that includes AGBP5 off Lanson RosA , Rene Florency Champagne half price at AGBP12.99 and Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top, down from AGBP22.98 to AGBP16.98. The Co-op has a third off Gauthier Brut RosA Champagne at AGBP17.33, Charles De Cazanove Champagne, reduced to AGBP11.99Afrom AGBP23.99, and half-price MarquAs De Monistrol Vintage Reserve RosA cava (AGBP4.99).
