Waitrose has recruited a buyer for German, Eastern European, North American and English wines.
Ken Mackay MW - the youngest current Master of Wine - will join the BWS department on March 10 from wholesale distributor Willoughby's.
Buying manager Justin Howard-Sneyd MW will give up direct buying responsibilities and will focus entirely on running the team.
From the summer, Mackay will also be responsible for buying New Zealand wines. Buyer Andrew Shaw will take on the RhAne and the south of France.
