Suppliers should do more to support the independent trade, Ruth Yates, of Cheshire wine merchant Corks Out, told delegates at the Manchester SITT seminar.

She called on suppliers to draw up a strategy for the independent sector, including constructive meetings with retailers, effective promotional pricing and support for in-store tastings.
