Graham Holter One of the best-known independent wine merchants in East Sussex has relocated from its original home in Eastbourne to the county town of Lewes.
The Sussex Wine Company, owned by Ben and Georgie Furst, is now in a bigger shop in Market Street, which Ben says is not plagued by the problems he was facing 15 miles away.
"Eastbourne was a disaster area for a quality independent trying to survive , with all the parking restrictions that came in," he said. "It's been destroyed by the council - we lost virtually all our regular retail business. Thank goodness we were building up the internet and mail order side. ...
