Scottish brewer Williams Brothers is the only producer to have two ales chosen for a beer festival listing in the first Sainsbury's Beer Competition.

The brewer's Good Times Ale and Harvest Sun both made it through after a panel of industry experts sampled 118 entries from 52 brewers.

The beers are two of a line-up of 16 that will each be given a guaranteed order of 40,000 bottles and a place in the Sainsbury's Drinks Festival, which runs from Aug 14 to Sept 16.

The two beers which achieve the best rate of sale in the festival promotion will be rewarded with a permanent listing.
