The government has increased its annual packaging recycling and recovery targets for the next three years following a public consultation on waste.

The Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs is now aiming for recovery targets - packaging reused by a producer - of 72 per cent this year, compared with 68 per cent previously.
