THE sight of thousands of people who have lost their homes and loved ones in the space of half a minute has given the Malaysian Medical Relief Society (Mercy Malaysia) team in Iran a whole new perspective on human suffering.
Team leader Dr Dilshaad Ali Abas Ali of the Kuala Lumpur Hospital said it made them appreciate life in Malaysia even more.
"We have no idea how lucky we are, the comfort we live in because our country is not prone to earthquakes," he said at the former Italian field hospital in Baravat, five kilometres north of Bam, where the team is based.
