The 17 person team will join hundreds of runners from across South Yorkshire in the Star Donor Run during the games taking place in Sheffield from August 7 to 11.The games bring together hundreds of people from across the UK who have received a life-saving organ transplant and now enjoy a new lease of life.Lynne Moulder, lead donor relations manager from National Blood Service, said: "We're all very much looking forward to the Donor Run."We've got a good mix of people in our team of varying abilities, ages and jobs. "It's going to be a great event that will highlight the importance of donation."There is a strong and important link between blood donation and organ transplants. "In virtually every transplant operation there is a need for a blood transfusion."Blood and organ donation go hand in hand."Both are about people giving to help save the lives of others.
