A jewellery distribution firm has won orders worth GBP200,000 within weeks of signing a deal with a United States brand.

Chamilia UK, owned and run by husband and wife team Mick and Lorna McQuillan, is already supplying 70 shops nationwide after just six weeks of trading.

The business has agreed a licensed distribution deal with Chamilia, based in Minneapolis, to supply independent jewellery stores with its bracelets, bangles, necklaces and other items.

Mr McQuillan said the company had taken on one full-time and two part-time members of staff - and they expect to have four more vacancies by the end of the year.

There are plans to move from their north east Leicestershire warehouse to a larger 1,000 sq ft unit within the same area in a few months.

Chamilia UK changed its name from Esprit Trading under the deal.
