Time is running out for firms to join a free scheme which helps firms cut water waste.

Envirowise, a Government-funded sustainable business group, is encouraging companies in Leicestershire to sign up to The Rippleffect.

Under the scheme, members will be given free advice on how to improve water efficiency and reduce consumption for six months.

It comes as water companies announced plans to raise bills by 22 per cent nationally between 2010 and 2015.

Leicestershire customers will get away with one of the lowest price increases in the country as Severn Trent Water is planning increases that are one per cent above inflation.
