(From Hull Daily Mail)
Peter Cusack admits Hull FC simply ran out of energy and were unable to kill off St Helens having hit the front.
The Black and Whites fought back from 10-0 down, with Danny Tickle's sweetly struck conversion after Kirk Yeaman's second try putting FC 12-10 ahead with just 17 minutes remaining.
But the lead lasted little more than two minutes as Saints hit straight back with Francis Meli crossing in the corner.
Cusack admitted Meli's try was a killer blow, and that FC's players looked out on their feet when they did take the lead.
"You could tell when we had the ball we didn't have the options," he said.
"They had a lot of the ball earlier in the game and at that point you could tell how tired we were as there was nobody really pushing up when they had the ball.
