East Riding: Residents are being urged to sign up to a month-long blitz on litter.
East Riding Council wants people to take part in national The Big Tidy Up campaign, which is set to run throughout September.
Organisers Encams are hoping as many as 10,000 clean-ups throughout the UK will produce more than 500,000 bags of litter - a fitting celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first Litter Act.
Thousands of groups have already signed up for the scheme and council officials hope people across the area will join them.
Steve Brackenbury, the local authority's principal streetscene officer, said: "Keeping the East Riding tidy is something that boosts the quality of life of every resident and visitor to the region.
