(From Hull Daily Mail)
Dave Swarbrick is one of the few people to have read his own obituary.
The folk violinist and singer - who appears at Pocklington Arts Centre this month - was proclaimed dead by the Daily Telegraph on April 30, 1999.
At the time, the former Fairport Convention musician was seriously ill in a Coventry hospital, though still mustered surprise at the clipping his wife brought in.
"It's not the first time I've died in Coventry," he later remarked.
Almost a decade on, Dave is back on the road with his long-time musical compatriot Martin Carthy - a Scarborough-based singer and guitarist.
The duo, who began touring the northern folk clubs during the mid 60s, are returning to the venue with a collection of traditional songs and instrumentals.
