Set in fictional Bon Temps, Louisiana, and based on novels by Charlaine Harris, it's written and produced by Alan Ball, the gifted creator of Six Feet Under. If the series sticks to the books, Sookie will become involved with a shape-shifter and a werewolf. It's sort of a backwoods Oz, with sex.
