No matter what anyone says, you do not need 50 different brushes. I usually use no more than three. Beyond that, keep a few tools nearby that can correct mistakes--because we all make them.
FLUFFY BLUSH BRUSH: I like it to be one and a half to two inches in diameter so I can use it to apply foundation or cream blush. The foundation bit can get a little messy for nonprofessionals, but with some practice, a fluffy brush keeps foundation from looking pastelike.
DOMED EYE-SHADOW BRUSH: Try applying concealer with a half-inch fluffy eye-shadow brush--it makes the coverage smoother, like a veil on the skin.
