RILM is pleased to announce the publication of all data in XML format, bringing with it a number of enhancements for RILM users:
* Retrospective records covering conference proceedings dating back to 1835, first published in Speaking of Music: Music Conferences, 1835-1966, are now online.
* Linking between records (between main records for collections and the articles in them, between books and reviews of them, etc.) is consistent and powerful.
* Thousands of new links connect RILM records with full-text sources.
* All roman diacritics as well as non-roman characters (Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, etc.) display online.
* Over 35,000 records of publications in languages other than English include abstracts in the publication's language as well as in English.
RILM is offering free live Web tutorials on how to search and browse our database. These tutorials, which involve working interactively with an expert member of our staff, are especially useful for music librarians, faculty, and graduate and undergraduate classes. To schedule a Web tutorial, go to http://www.rilm.org/ (accessed 23 May 2008).
