New sources and new products change the game

It's a mixed bag for the forest product industry in the Gulf. The housing crunch continues to drive down construction-related imports. However, its impact has been muted by rising import volumes of wood pulp and paper, burgeoning exports, strong global demand for paper goods and increased interest in renewable energy sources.
