INDIA'S TELELCOM REGULATORS IN DISPUTE OVER QUALITY OF SERVICE.
NEW DELHI, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - In a strange development, the two statutory authorities in India's telecommunications sector - TRAI and TDSAT - Friday blamed each other for inaction against erring mobile operators over network congestion.
Appellate tribunal TDSAT today said it was not clear what was preventing the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) from imposing quality norms on the service providers, as no stay was granted against the regulator's showcause notice to mobile operators.
In its latest report on network congestion, TRAI had said that "the sequence of events of the case would show that the appellant association (COAI) and its members have been enjoying the benefit of the TDSAT's observation that it expects parties not to proceed further after the matter ...
