SEOUL, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - The government plans to raise electricity and other public utility charges next month, but the planned increases will be smaller than earlier sought, officials said Sunday.
In July, the government said it was considering raising gas and electricity charges by up to 30 per cent this year, reflecting increased costs for oil and raw materials.
"The public utility charges increases, if any, are likely to be made in October or November," said an official at the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.
"And the gains in charges will be smaller than earlier announced."
