GORONTALO, Indonesia, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - State electricity company PT PLN's branch in Gorontalo province in the first eight months of this year suffered Rp280 billion (US$30.5 million) in losses due in part to a rise in fuel spending.
PLN spent Rp50 billion to Rp55 billion a month on diesel oil for its generators in the province, PLN branch manager in Gorontalo, Ali Akbar, said here on Sunday.
"The operating cost rose due to a rise in the prices of non-subsidized diesel oil to Rp12,000 a liter now, while our diesel oil consumption reaches 4,100 liters a month," he said.
