SEOUL, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - South Korean stocks opened sharply lower on Monday, weighed down by steep losses among U.S. equities markets in the previous session, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) plunged 23.81 points, or 1.63 per cent, to 1,450.43 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Machinery issues were severely rattled, as Doosan Group units continued their landslide losses over concerns of the credibility of their management following the Doosan Group's recent buyout of Bobcat, a U.S. construction equipment maker.
