At least twice a year, I go to Thailand to work on my jewelry and handbag collections. The Oriental is where I always stay, for their massages and afternoon yoga. People ask me, "Why Thailand?" It's because I've built great relationships with the skilled artisans there--besides, work is the best excuse to go to one of the greatest places on Earth. When I'm not working in Bangkok, I take in the rich Buddhist culture of ancient cities in the north, like Chiang Rai and Ayutthaya, where I rode an elephant through the ruins of Wat Phra Maha That and gazed at temples with gold ceilings and walls inlaid with rubies, emeralds, and sapphires.
