Mississippi's College Board has given Mississippi University for Women the go-ahead to explore a name change.

While image may play a role, a name change might mean more money for the school of 2,400 students. The state's college board recently announced a plan to make state funding more reflective of expenses and enrollment. With the smallest enrollment of the eight state universities, the school began losing some funding starting July 1.
