NEW DELHI, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - India is looking forward to cementing cooperative ties with Taiwan, said a Taiwanese legislator, who is leading a 10-member legislative delegation on a fact-finding visit to the South Asian country.
Cheng Li-wen, a lawmaker of the ruling Kuomintang (KMT), told the Central News Agency that India is poised for an economic takeoff, with large capital inflows, so it is eager to learn from Taiwan's experience in economic development.
Cheng, who doubles as chairwoman of the Taiwan-India Parliamentary Amity Association, described the legislative delegation's visit as fruitful, saying that the Indian side expressed high expectations for closer relations with Taiwan's new administration.
