TAIPEI, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - The central government's expenditure for 2009 is budgeted at NT$1.83 trillion (US$60 billion), marking a 6.9 percent year-on-year increase, the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) reported Thursday.
The increased budget will mainly be used for new economic development projects, more social welfare services and additional spending on education, culture and technology research, the DGBAS said in a press statement.
