AUSTRALIA'S CSR TO BOOST ITS ETHANOL PRODUCTION CAPACITY.
SYDNEY, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - CSR Limited (ASX:CSR) will spend .8 million ($US16.74 million) to increase its ethanol production capacity to 60 million litres per annum, the company announced today.
Citing strong demand by Australian oil companies for fuel grade ethanol, CSR said it would upgrade the distillery and convert all its production to 60 million litres of fuel grade ethanol.
The ethanol extraction process will produce less than half the CO2 emissions of petrol per litre, with no impact on food prices, managing director Jerry Maycock said in a statement.
