Walnut CreekThe PMI Group Inc. promoted Arthur P. Slepian to executive vice president, chief enterprise risk officer.

Mr. Slepian will be responsible for enterprise risk management for the PMI Group, including U.S. mortgage insurance operations, international subsidiaries and strategic investments.

He has more than 22 years of experience at PMI and has been responsible for a variety of areas, including the establishment of CMG Mortgage Insurance Co., PMIs joint venture with CUNA Mutual Group.

Walnut CreekPMI Mortgage Insurance Co. appointed Joanne Berkowitz as executive vice president for risk management and operations.

In this capacity Ms. Berkowitz will be responsible for optimizing the credit risk, portfolio management and risk-adjusted return objectives for PMIs U.S. mortgage insurance portfolio as well as for under-writing and servicing operations.

She had been chief enterprise risk officer for The PMI Group and began her career with PMI in 1983.
