The Land Rover LR2 is a car-based SUV that shares a platform with the Volvo V70 wagon and S80 sedan, all developed under Ford's ownership. The LR2 is a lot more pleasant to drive than other Land Rovers we've tested, but we have concerns about the LR2's emergency handling.
Replacing the Freelander in Land Rover's lineup, it has a comfortable ride, great visibility, well-weighted steering, and a smooth six-speed automatic transmission. Handling in normal conditions is responsive.
