Those who frequent big cities have more than likely seen their fair share of counterfeit goods. On a number of New York City streets, it's possible that a resident or tourist could walk past several thousand dollars of counterfeit goods at any time of the day, whether it be "Prado" bags, "Row-lex" watches or "Foakley" sunglasses. Most consumers might look at these items as a minor nuisance or, in many cases, a good deal, despite the often shoddy workmanship and negative economic effects. For businesses, the issue isn't so simple and it could, in the future, become a great deal more complicated.
