BALTIMORE (AP) -- A college forensics lab might have a little less sizzle than television's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," but that's where students are honing their skills to fight the bad guys.

"Everything you see on CSI, we do it for real," said Charles Tumosa, an assistant professor at University of Baltimore in the forensic studies department.

Instructors at area colleges and universities suggest that Maryland might have a higher concentration of colleges and universities offering courses and degrees in related fields because of its proximity to Washington and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security headquarters.
