   Like smoke from an abandoned cigarette, 
   Your hopes have evanesced without a trace: 
   The interviews you wish you could forget, 
   The charms that failed to woo the populace, 
   The speech that brought disaster and disgrace, 
   The reasoned argument that came to blows,
