Byline: INTERVIEWS BY BROOKE LE POER TRENCH, DANIELLE PERGAMENT, AND SARAH VAN BOVEN
Expert advice on taking great vacation photos, booking the ideal hotel, and more.
An Interview With Valerie Delafosse
A Paris-based designer, Delafosse is the creative director of the lingerie and swimwear brand Eres.
An excellent indication that you've found a well-fitting suit is when someone in the store throws you an envious glance--or, even better, asks the saleswoman if she can try on the same design. Of course, there are other ways to find a great bikini.
Prepare yourself. Start shopping after you've booked your vacation. Just the idea of lying on a beach makes the process more enjoyable. And apply self-tanner a few days before hitting the stores; you'll feel better about the way your body looks in a suit.
Check the clock. The best time to shop for swimwear is just before lunch on a sunny day. Your stomach feels flat, and you can check your reflection in the natural daylight flooding into the store, rather than the bright, unflattering lights of a changing room.
