When we were kids, paint-by-numbers kits made us feel like Monet--or at least Bob Ross. Now, a new eyes-only line called Eyes by Design, available on the Home Shopping Network, is making shadow application just as simple, eliminating the guesswork of both finding the right colors and knowing where to apply them. The Transforming Eye Palettes each have four shadows to flatter different eye colors, all numbered for placement: One goes over the lid, one in the crease, another acts as a liner, and the fourth brightens the inner or outer corners. The company polled consumers to find out what they did--and didn't--want from their eye makeup and found, for instance, that blue-eyed women were vehemently opposed to blue shades. Each palette also comes with an illustrated guide and instructions for multiple day and evening looks. allure staffers re-created one of the nighttime looks to see if the kits really are as easy as 1, 2, 3, 4.
Eyes by Design also offers Retouching Cream, an undereye primer with light diffusers to downplay lines. Be one of the first 500 allure readers to sign up at noon EDT on July 8, and you'll get one free. Log on to allure.com/freestuff for details.
