Collaboration apps save the planet

The drive towards cutting data centre emissions can actually work against environmental interests, according to a report.
The report, from research firm Freeform Dynamics, said the biggest environmental savings came from cutting travel-related activities.
This is something that information professionals have been doing for years by introducing collaboration software into their organisations.
IWR columnist David Tebbutt, the author of the report, said: "The motivation might have been the acceleration of business and the sharing of information, but the undeniable side benefit has been to the environment."
