Proquest buys Dialog from Thomson Reuters

Information giant Thomson Reuters is selling Dialog to Proquest in its first significant corporate move since it was created from a merger in April. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Proquest, a Cambridge Information Group (CIG) company, said the acquisition of Dialog would give it a valued brand, authoritative content and precision search tools that would help it in the corporate library and professional research markets.
Both parties said that Dialog would continue to be an important distribution channel for Thomson Reuters content after the transaction. Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI), Investext, TrademarkScan, SciSearch and BIOSIS are among the databases set to remain available through Dialog.
