In an effort to optimize support for Red Digital Cinema workflows in postproduction, AJA has said that it is adding Red-specific video outputs for some of the unique frame sizes that the RedAlert and RedCine software applications produce. This new support will be included in the Version 6 software driver for the Kona 3 video card. The software update will be free for Kona 3 users and is expected to be available as of press time.

In other news, AJA is releasing four new mini converters. The HD10CEA allows video professionals working with HD-SDI to interface with analog video and audio formats, converting SDI/HD-SDI video with embedded audio to analog video and four-channel balanced analog audio.
